At OCCORD, we believe every person deserves to belong, to be heard, and to have a meaningful voice in the decisions that shape their family, neighborhood, and future.
For more than 20 years, Orange County Communities Organized for Responsible Development (OCCORD) has worked alongside immigrant, working-class, and historically marginalized communities across Orange County to build power and create lasting change.
Our work meets people where they are. We help Legal Permanent Residents navigate the path to U.S. citizenship. We organize Family Preparedness/Power of Attorney clinics, so families have trusted information and plans in place during uncertain times. We develop community leaders, organize neighborhoods, engage voters, and advocate for public institutions that are transparent, accountable, and responsive to the people they serve.
In this moment, that work is more important than ever. Families across Orange County are navigating fear, rising costs, housing instability, misinformation, and increasing threats to immigrant communities. At the same time, residents continue to show tremendous courage: becoming citizens, speaking at city council meetings, organizing their neighbors, voting for the first time, and advocating for a better future for their families. OCCORD is there alongside them.
